Hydraulic Tool Catcher is a safety device for installation below the Grease Injection Head or Slickline Stuffing Box. If the tool is pulled into the top of the Lubricator and the wire stripped from the Rope Socket, the Tool Catcher will engage the tool’s fishing neck and prevent the loss of the tool string into the well bore. The Tool Catcher is designed to be fail-safe: it is permanently in the catch position and requires hydraulic pressure to release.
In an additional safety feature, Hydraulic Tool Catchers are assembled with Ball Check Valves that effectively seal off wellbore pressure in the event of a pull-off. Once the wire falling off or broken from the Rope Socket accidentally, under the function of the high pressure flow or the airflow, the Ball Check Valve can plug the wire hole to choke flow and seal wellhead automatically.
There are two types of Ball Check Valves for selective. One is the Tool Catcher supplied with and integral Ball Check Valve Assembly. Another Ball Check Valve is designed to assemble in a separately Crossover. And the second type will be recommended because it is easy for assembly, maintenance and flexible in application. The Hydraulic Tool Catcher with separated Ball Check Valve could service in Working Pressure 15000Psi.
