China Shale News Review – Nov 30 , 2023

◊ Breakthrough of the Highest Temperature Record for Perforated Wells in Asia

On November 15th, the perforation construction of the key exploration well Fu 1 was successfully completed, with a depth of 7134-7168 meters in the target layer, a pressure of 108.7 MPa, and a temperature of 221 degrees Celsius. The one-time success rate and perforation emission rate were 100%, setting a record for the highest perforation well temperature in Asia.

◊ The Shale Oil Production of Jiangsu Oilfield was Once Again Exceeded 10000 Tons

On November 14th, there was good news from the Huaye 5HF well in the Huazhuang area: the well was produced using a 3.5mm nozzle, and its cumulative oil production exceeded 10000 tons. This is the third shale oil well in Jiangsu Oilfield that has exceeded 10000 tons of cumulative oil production.

◊ Southwest Petroleum Engineering Company’s difficult to Use annual Gas Production Exceeds 500 Million cm³

Recently, SINOPEC Southwest Oil and Gas Company’s Jinfo 101H well tested in the Jurassic Shaximiao Formation and obtained a daily production of 150700 cm³ of commercial gas flow, achieving a commercial breakthrough in the exploration of tight sandstone gas reservoirs in the Longmen Mountain front structural belt in the western Sichuan Basin. It is expected to form another 100 billion cm³ level new field for increased storage and production.

◊ SINOPEC has Made Significant Breakthroughs in the Sichuan Basin

The new third team of SINOPEC Jingwei Shengli Logging Company Bazhou Branch successfully completed the YJ3-3XC well with a bottom horizontal displacement of 3439.34 meters and a depth of 9432.55 meters, using the SHMLS-900 direct push storage instrument developed by the company with a temperature resistance of 200 ℃ and a pressure resistance of 206MPa. This set a record for the longest horizontal displacement of wells with a vertical depth greater than 7100 meters in SINOPEC and the deepest logging record for onshore horizontal wells in Asia.

◊ The Development of Deep and Complex Buried Hill Oil and Gas Reservoirs in China’s Offshore Areas has Entered A New Stage

On November 14th, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced that the first 100 billion square meter large gas field in the Bohai Sea, the Phase I development project of the Bozhong 19-6 gas field, has been successfully put into operation, marking a new stage in the development of deep and complex offshore buried hill oil and gas reservoirs in China. It is of great significance for ensuring national energy security and optimizing energy structure.
